Happy California Arts Day!

It's here! California Arts Day is on the first Friday in October, and corresponds to national Arts and Humanities Month. Celebrate your personal creativity with this year's theme of "The Art in Me." The California Arts Council has a database of Arts Day Events statewide to see what to do in your neighborhood. Or do you want to tell others about California Arts Day and what the arts mean to you? Send them a card and let them know about the "Art in Me!" The California Arts Council created self-print California Arts Day cards so arts lovers can spread the word. SEE CARDS. SEE ARTS DAY PAGES. "Creative California" scores near the top in study examining creative economy

California has the third highest Creative Vitality Index (CVI) score in the nation for both 2006 and 2007, according to a study that measures the annual changes in the economic health of an area's creative sector and includes both for-profit and nonprofit activities. Only New York and Massachusetts scored higher than the Golden State.
