Voluntary Tax Check Off Donations More Than Double from Previous Month
The Franchise Tax Board has just released new figures for Voluntary Contributions for March. Statistics show that contributions to the "Arts Council Fund" were over $51,000 in March with more than 5,500 donors. Totals for the 2010 tax year thus far: over $77,000 donated by more than 8,800 state tax filers. The California Arts Council anticipates a larger bump in April: past records from other Voluntary Contribution beneficiary groups show that April is the most active month, due in large part to the tax return deadline. This is the first year for the California Arts Council to participate.
