Building San Jose's "Platform" for Creative Placemaking

With the theme, Platform: Building Networks to Catalyze Creative Urban Culture, the City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs and the California Arts Council hope to lead a lively discussion about Creative Placemaking. The September 14 event at San Jose City Hall includes a number of sessions and exhibits. And Arts Council Director Craig Watson will lead a conversation with local arts and economic development leaders on innovative examples of creative placemaking.

Creating Public Value 2011-12 grantees

The California Arts Council announced the grantees for its Creating Public Value program this week. Seventy-seven organizations received funding to provide arts programming in rural and underserved communities in which geography, economic conditions, ethnic background, or disability hinder access to the arts.
