Economic impact of Pacific Standard Time: $280M

When the Getty and other backers of the regional visual-arts collaborative project "Pacific Standard Time" began, they believed it would have a positive impact on the southern California economy. The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation has confirmed that it did.

Native Californian Basketry Book Now Available

The California Arts Council worked with California State Parks five years ago to find funding to display the California Indian Heritage Center collection of Native American basketry and artifacts. Not only was the collection exhibited in three venues since then, but now there's a book for the project as well.

Recent Irvine Foundation Arts Grantees

The James Irvine Foundation -- one of the largest statewide funders of the arts in California -- has announced its latest grantees. Of the more than 50 grants announced, 32 of them are for arts organizations, many under the Irvine Foundation's new "Arts Innovation" philosophy.

A few months ago the California Arts Council announced that the students from the Imagine Bus Project, a San Francisco youth-arts nonprofit, would create ornaments for the Golden State's tree display in Washington, DC.
