Arts in Corrections Informational Hearing on May 3

Senator Curren Price, Chair of the Joint Committee on the Arts, will convene a number of Arts in Corrections experts on May 3, 2013, in Los Angeles for an informational hearing. Californians receive $3.98 million in NEA grants

The National Endowment for the Arts announced its most recent round of funding, and 122 California artists and arts organizations received a total of $3.98 million -- or about 15% of the total amount awarded.  SEE PRESS RELEASE * SEE LIST OF CALIFORNIANS

Two Californians in State Dept. Music Abroad Program

Two California musical groups have been selected to partake in "American Music Abroad 2013-14," a program from the U.S. State Dept. Arts Council Meeting in Los Angeles on April 30

The California Arts Council will meet on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at The Autry National Center. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at approximately 5:00 p.m., and includes a session of the Arts Council Strategic Plan "Listening Tour" from approximately 1:00 p.m. to the conclusion of the meeting. Poetry Out Loud Nat'l Finals & Live Webcast 4/29-30

Interested in seeing what other states have to offer for their Poetry Out Loud champs? Consider watching the semi-finals and final round live via webcast on April 29 and 30.
