New Chair of Joint Arts Committee, Sen. Ted Lieu

Senator Ted W. Lieu of western Los Angeles County was just appointed chair of the Joint Committee on the Arts. This committee oversees legislative matters regarding the arts and other creativity-driven industries throughout the state. "With our economy on the rebound, I would like to seize this opportunity to find ways that the Legislature can revitalize arts education programs so that our children can, once again, benefit from a full and complete education," Lieu said. Congratulations, Senator Lieu! We look forward to working with you.

Help us reach every corner of the state!

We know as a friend of the California Arts Council, you've heard about our Strategic Plan survey many times during the past month... but are all your friends and colleagues in the know? We want to ensure that we are reaching as many Californians as possible and gathering voices representative of the state's diverse arts communities. Help us spread the word and share the survey link. And a big thank you to the 800+ arts lovers who have already participated!
