Every day in California we celebrate the Arts and Creativity, but October is the month our nation gets the party started! October is National Arts and Humanities Month, the leading annual celebration for the arts and humanities in the nation. How will you celebrate and raise awareness for the arts in your community?

Four Americans for the Arts Leadership Councils are seeking nominations for new council members to serve three-year terms from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2016. Do you know of some hard working Californians fit to join the Arts Education Council, Emerging Leader Council, Private Sector Council, or the Public Art Network Council? Nominations close October 9. 

The National Endowment for the Arts posted the guidelines and application materials for Our Town, the agency's primary creative placemaking grants program. This year, four California cities were awarded this prestigious grant... can we top that in 2014? Pending availability of funding, grants will range from $25,000 to $200,000. Deadline is January 13, 2014.
