Expanded 'Veterans Initiative in the Arts' Program Now Open

The 2016 grant application season is underway! Guidelines and applications for eight of our grant programs are now available. With ongoing assessment of our grant programs and the addition of new programs, all guidelines and applications have been revised this year. Please read eligibility and program requirements carefully.

New this week:

Veterans Initiative in the Arts (VIA) seeks to increase equity, access, and opportunities for veterans to participate in arts programming that is sensitive and responsive to their unique experiences. VIA provides project and partnership support for nonprofit arts organizations, local arts agencies, and veterans' assistance agencies to reach veterans, active military, and their families. Interested in helping? It's easy - and deductible! Give a little extra on your state tax return to the "Keep Arts in Schools Fund," and 100% of your tax-deductible contribution is applied to arts education programs supported by the California Arts Council. The fund can be found in Voluntary Contribution Section 110 (425) of the "540" individual state tax-return form, and the minimum donation is just $1.
