More Mobile Web Pages for the California Arts Council Launched
Three-part "opportunities" section and more social media links now available
Along with the mobile California Festivals web pages launched in February, the California Arts Council has now added an Opportunities section, including Arts Jobs, Artist Calls and Grants. In addition, the social media bar has been beefed up so hand-held mobile device users may access the CAC's Flickr and YouTube sites as well as the Facebook and Twitter links. All these pages may be viewed at the mobile site (www.m.cac.ca.gov).
The California Arts Council's 2010 Strategic Plan includes the goal, "Technology and the skills to use it are upgraded to improve communications with the field," and the development of these mobile web pages is encouraged by the State of California's Office of Technology Services. The State of California's mobile website (www.m.ca.gov) averaged 1,000 views a day in early 2011, with the numbers rising daily.
The California Arts Council website is www.cac.ca.gov, and the mobile version is www.m.cac.ca.gov. The agency's website technology will detect interaction via a mobile device automatically when the main California Arts Council website is accessed from an iPhone, Android or Blackberry.
