Gallery Intern

M+B, a contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles, seeks friendly, hard-working and organized individuals for part time internship positions specifically focused in registrar type work and projects. We are seeking energetic, detail-oriented problem-solvers who are willing to go above and beyond. Applicants should be highly organized, able to prioritize and willing to undertake basic and complex tasks with equal diligence and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities include assisting staff with general administrative tasks and day-to-day operations, helping digitize and format pertinent information and materials, organize and track inventory, assist with shipment of art works, helping with artist exhibitions and art fairs, along with conducting various individualized projects.

This internship entails involvement in all facets of the gallery’s operations, along with specific projects that would include cataloguing artist information and images, inputting and updating inventory in Square and other databases, helping keep organization systems in place, and handling artworks. Applicants must be able to multi-task and work well within a fast-paced environment. 

The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am-6 pm. We are looking for availability of at least two full days a week, three preferred. Interns will be expected to work openings and other events. We believe in training our interns to gain valuable experience for arts-based careers.

This is an unpaid position.

  • Knowledge and experience with Mac platform, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and Square required. Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop are a plus
  • Undergraduate degree or currently enrolled juniors or seniors - art related field preferred
  • Excellent phone and email etiquette
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, professional, organized
